Sr. Engineer, Software Development

Overview

Senior Java Developer role to design, develop and maintain scalable, high-performance enterprise applications, with technical leadership and collaboration across cross-functional teams.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, test and deploy enterprise-grade Java applications and services.
• Lead the architecture and implementation of scalable microservices-based solutions.
• Develop robust, reusable and maintainable code following industry best practices.
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools to improve coding efficiency, quality and productivity.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and system integrations.
• Collaborate with principal engineer, solution architect, QA Engineers and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Participate in technical discussions, solution design reviews and architectural decision-making.
• Contribute to Agile development ceremonies including sprint planning, estimation, reviews and retrospectives.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, reliability and security.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across development, testing and production environments.
• Ensure adherence to coding standards, security guidelines and SDLC processes.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience in Java application development.
• Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise-grade applications.
• Strong proficiency in Java and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
• Spring Framework: Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security.
• RESTful API development.
• Microservices architecture.
• Hibernate / JPA.
• PostgreSQL.
• Git and modern version control practices.
• AI-assisted development tools: GitHub Copilot, Claude.
• Strong understanding of design patterns.
• Strong debugging, performance tuning and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with frontend technologies: Angular, React, modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments.
• Relevant certifications in Java development and cloud technologies.
