Work with Design and Manufacturing Engineering to optimize product and process design for manufacturability, develop manufacturing processes and documentation, estimate manufacturing cost, and coordinate prototype and pilot activities.
What you'll do
- Serve as the Industrialization representative in all phases of NPI and Continuation Engineering project teams for EA and FA.
- Design manufacturing processes and support testing for PCBA builds.
- Work closely with the Build Team to ensure build success.
- Study and review PCBA designs for cost, quality, process time, takt and cycle time, yield performance, and false rejects.
- Apply DfX tools to optimize designs.
- Lead Design for Manufacturing and Design for Assembly analyses.
- Identify assembly equipment, tooling, and fixture requirements.
- Participate in procurement, installation, and validation activities.
- Perform Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis.
- Review PCBA design and process costs and coordinate with vendors for better costs.
- Create Documented Work Instructions.
- Coordinate prototype and pilot build and evaluation activities.
- Ensure compliance with production environmental, health, and safety requirements.
- Facilitate final acceptance of new assembly processes.
- Apply engineering and familiarity with Rockwell Automation systems to perform duties and responsibilities.
- Research, develop, and implement cost reduction and process improvement projects independently.
- Lead a small team to complete projects when required.
- Contribute to yearly productivity savings for the ISC organization.
- Track product manufacturing cost throughout NPI projects.
- Work concurrently on multiple NPI and non-NPI projects.
- Lead others within and outside the Industrialization group to achieve common objectives.
