Sr. Modular Engineer (Structure)

Overview

The Sr. Modular Engineer (Structure) will be responsible for civil and structural design of modular technology projects in association with KBR’s Technology Business Unit at Houston.

What you'll do

• Prepare design calculations and reports for all civil and structural deliverables.
• Prepare, review, and approve discipline engineering design bases, philosophies, and technical specifications.
• Review and check drawings and 3D models.
• Interface with other disciplines to provide and receive design inputs.
• Provide technical direction and review designers producing structural engineering products.
• Review technical queries and execution statements related to bid proposals.
• Develop creative and innovative solutions that are reliable and cost-effective for problems and challenges.
• Manage own time to meet objectives.
• Lead discipline engineering design and complete it within the planned schedule and budget, to a high professional standard.
• Attend internal and external project meetings.
• Manage key business relationships with clients and with Technology Business Unit managerial teams in India and Houston.

What you'll need

• 14 to 18 years of detailed engineering working experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Relevant experience of 14-18 years in civil and structural design.
• A graduate degree in B.Tech./B.E. Civil Engineering.
• Detailed knowledge and well-established experience in structural modular steel design, including land, sea, lifting, and in-place analysis of modules.
• Knowledge of applying standards, codes, and guidelines applicable to modular structures.
• Hands-on experience with the structural design software Staad Pro.
• Hands-on experience with foundation design software such as MAT3D and FDN3D.
• Experience with Indian, US, Euro, and other foreign structural design codes and standards.
• At least five years of design team leadership experience.
• Minimum six years of hands-on experience in modular projects as a structural engineer.
• Ability to work in a team.
• A highly motivated, innovative, and analytical mind.
