Overview
Design, develop, integrate, and support modern enterprise applications and platforms as a Senior Software Engineer – Enterprise Platforms. Combine hands-on development with technical ownership to deliver scalable, secure, reliable, and maintainable solutions across application development, APIs, integrations, workflow automation, and platform engineering.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support enterprise applications, platform capabilities, and integrations.
- Own complex technical deliverables from solution design through production implementation and support.
- Develop applications and services using technologies such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, Python, REST APIs, web services, and modern integration patterns.
- Build and maintain integrations between enterprise platforms, APIs, data sources, and internal/external systems.
- Develop and enhance solutions on ServiceNow or comparable enterprise application platforms.
- Design workflow automation and reusable platform capabilities that improve employee and developer experiences.
- Participate in solution architecture, technical design, code reviews, and engineering discussions.
- Apply software engineering best practices including automated testing, source control, CI/CD, observability, security, and production readiness.
- Troubleshoot complex application, platform, integration, performance, and production issues.
- Identify opportunities to reduce technical debt and improve scalability, resiliency, maintainability, and engineering productivity.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, engineers, security teams, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Mentor other engineers and contribute to engineering standards, reusable patterns, and development best practices.
- Explore emerging technologies, including GenAI and agentic capabilities, to improve enterprise applications, workflows, and user experiences.
What you'll need
- Significant experience in software engineering, application development, or enterprise platform development.
- Strong programming experience using JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, Python, or comparable languages.
- Experience designing and consuming REST APIs, web services, JSON-based interfaces, and system integrations.
- Strong understanding of software design principles, application architecture, data models, and integration patterns.
- Experience with source control, automated testing, CI/CD, and modern software development practices.
- Experience troubleshooting complex production and integration issues.
- Understanding of secure software development, authentication/authorization, application security, and production reliability.
- Ability to independently own complex technical problems from initial analysis through implementation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Experience working in Agile software development environments.
Nice to have
- ServiceNow experience is highly desirable, including one or more of the following: ServiceNow application development; JavaScript and server/client-side scripting; App Engine and scoped applications; Flow Designer and IntegrationHub; REST/SOAP APIs and integrations; ServiceNow platform architecture and configuration; ITSM, CMDB, Employee workflows, or other ServiceNow capabilities; platform upgrades and lifecycle management; ServiceNow development and deployment best practices; ServiceNow CSA, CAD, or related certifications.
- Enterprise application and integration architecture experience.
