Sr. Staff Backend Engineer

Overview

Sr. Staff Backend Engineer to own the platform’s core, data-intensive computation services that turn curated financial/operational data into correct, reproducible, and fully traceable results.

What you'll do

• Own services for core financial and operational computation.
• Express complex logic as performant, set-based computation over a warehouse.
• Build a configuration runtime to execute per-domain configuration without bespoke code paths.
• Enforce guardrails via controls/feature flags and build audit logging and lineage.
• Design for multi-cloud, multi-tenant, customer-hosted deployments with isolation and no data egress.
• Integrate with customer engineering teams and feed learnings back into the core platform.
• Set engineering patterns, review designs, and mentor the backend team.

What you'll need

• 8+ years in backend engineering in Python, Go, Java, or similar.
• Experience owning complex, data-intensive systems at Staff level.
• Strong correctness, traceability, and testability mindset.
• Elite SQL and data modeling skills, including window functions and large-scale joins.
• Experience with configuration-driven, extensible service architectures.
• Direct technical experience working with customers or external stakeholders.
• Hands-on with Python, SQL (Snowflake or PostgreSQL), config-driven/rules-engine architectures, and Docker/Kubernetes/Terraform.
