SR. SW Test Engineer

Overview

Senior software test engineer for Magna Electronics, testing embedded automotive radar and ADAS software using automotive tools and communication protocols.

What you'll do

• Apply understanding of FMCW radar systems, RF fundamentals and automotive radar applications.
• Apply knowledge of MMIC concepts including antenna configurations, power back-off techniques and waveform concepts.
• Work with ADAS features such as BSM, LCA and CTA.
• Apply understanding of blockage detection and interference mitigation.
• Test and debug embedded software.
• Perform system-level and integration-level validation.
• Work within the Software V-Model (V-Cycle) and use Lauterbach Trace32 and TI Debugger.
• Work with CAN FD, Ethernet, UART and RS232 communication protocols.
• Write CAPL scripts and automate testing.
• Use CANoe, GitHub, Bitbucket, Jira, Codebeamer and CI/CD pipelines.
• Maintain safe work practices, comply with Magna H&S requirements, and participate in training and hazard reporting.

What you'll need

• Good understanding of microcontroller architecture and embedded systems concepts.
• Experience with embedded software testing and debugging.
• Hands-on experience with Software V-Model (V-Cycle).
• Proficiency in Lauterbach Trace32 and TI Debugger.
• Experience in system-level and integration-level validation.
• Strong working experience with CAN FD and Ethernet.
• Knowledge of UART and RS232.
• Strong proficiency in CAPL scripting.
• Basic knowledge of C programming.
• Hands-on experience with CANoe.
• Familiarity with GitHub and Bitbucket.
• Experience with Jira, Codebeamer and CI/CD pipelines.

Nice to have

• Python knowledge is an advantage.
