Staff Data Architect

Overview

Lead enterprise data architecture for the HR and Payroll domain, establishing standards, governance, models, pipelines, and integration patterns. Manage and develop a data team in India while partnering with enterprise architecture, IT, and HR/Payroll stakeholders.

What you'll do

• Develop enterprise data models and related data architecture views.
• Design data models, pipelines, and integrations for HCM and Payroll systems.
• Establish technical standards, governance practices, and data quality controls.
• Manage, coach, and develop the India-based data team.
• Translate HR/Payroll business questions into data requirements and analytics-ready solutions.
• Evaluate technologies and conduct proof-of-concept projects.
• Guide architecture reviews, performance optimization, security, recovery, and troubleshooting.

What you'll need

• 7+ years of relevant and practical experience.
• Bachelor's degree or relevant experience.
• Deep expertise in data engineering, data modeling, or data platforms.
• Hands-on experience with SQL, data modeling, and pipeline or ETL work.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to establish technical patterns and influence decision-makers.
• Knowledge of data privacy, lineage, validation, metadata, and governance.

Nice to have

• TOGAF, AWS or GCP cloud, security, SAP, or SAFe certification.
• Experience with BigQuery, Palantir Foundry, Workday, SAP, or Collibra.
