Staff Data Engineer

Overview

Staff Data Engineer role architecting and delivering scalable, production-ready cloud data, analytics, AI/ML and data science solutions, providing technical leadership across engineering teams.

What you'll do

• Architect and deliver scalable, production-ready cloud data, analytics, AI/ML, and data science solutions to address complex business challenges.
• Lead enterprise architecture and technical design decisions, establishing robust data models, platform standards, integration patterns, and lifecycle practices while minimizing technical debt.
• Provide deep technical expertise to troubleshoot critical issues and drive innovative, scalable solutions across multiple projects and technology domains.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, architects, business stakeholders, and technical working groups to define and deliver effective architecture solutions.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, architecture reviews, and solution guidance to Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Engineers, and Product Owners, strengthening overall engineering capability.

What you'll need

• 15+ years of IT experience in data and technology, including 5+ years architecting and delivering large-scale cloud data, analytics, and AI/ML solutions.
• Strong hands-on experience with GCP and/or Azure, along with enterprise and on-premises technology platforms.
• Strong experience with Snowflake, including enterprise data architecture, data modeling, performance optimization, and integration with cloud and enterprise platforms.
• Strong experience with SAP platforms and data integration.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with technologies such as Python, SQL, .NET, and Angular, along with strong software engineering and GitHub-based development practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills across business and technical audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate and adopt emerging technologies and translate them into scalable solutions that deliver long-term business value.
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while effectively managing multiple priorities.
• Work independently with a high degree of ownership, initiative, and accountability.
• Rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies, platforms, and evolving technology trends.
• Demonstrate a passion for data and technology, supported by strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Collaborate effectively across cross-functional and globally distributed teams, aligning diverse perspectives and requirements toward common objectives.
• Communicate effectively with technical, business, and leadership stakeholders through strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Nice to have

• Strong experience with SAP S/4HANA and leveraging SAP data for enterprise analytics solutions.
• Experience with Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions.
• Exposure to distributed technologies such as Kubernetes/OpenShift and Solace.
