Staff Data Engineer

Overview

As a Staff Data Engineer in the HomeBuying Technology unit within Retail Technology, you will engineer applications and data capabilities underpinning the retail home lending business across digital, branch and broker or third-party channels.

What you'll do

• Lead high-performing engineering teams.
• Build data pipelines.
• Support release processes and operations.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues involving multiple system components.
• Work with agile delivery models, including squads, chapters and tribes.
• Apply DevSecOps best practices across CI/CD tools, observability and software delivery lifecycle processes.
• Use cloud-native capabilities and public cloud engineering.
• Coach stakeholders and manage stakeholder relationships.

What you'll need

• 12+ years of industry experience, preferably in the complex Datawarehouse domain.
• A solid technical foundation in diverse technologies.
• A track record of leading high-performing engineering teams.
• Experience with Hadoop, including Spark and Scala.
• Experience with Teradata, DataStage, Unix, AWS and GEN AI.
• Excellent understanding of large-scale distributed systems, microservices and cloud technology.
• Knowledge of public cloud engineering, including AWS or Azure.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps best practices with CI/CD tools, observability and processes for the Software Delivery Lifecycle.
• Experience troubleshooting complex technical issues involving multiple system components.
• Excellent interpersonal, coaching and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with agile delivery models, including squads, chapters and tribes.
• Good understanding of building data pipelines, the release process and operations support framework.
• Experience with GitHub or any preferred version control systems.
• Certifications such as AWS Certified Data Analytics/Engineer/Developer – Specialty or AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
• Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Engineering in Computer Science or Information Technology.

Nice to have

• Experience in working with the Banking Domain.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake and DBT.
• Experience using cloud-native capabilities.
