Staff Data Scientist (TLM)

Overview

Staff Data Scientist for Supply Chain Operations Research, leading end-to-end operations research (OR) workstreams that power optimization decisions for supply chain planning.

What you'll do

• Lead OR workstreams end-to-end from problem formulation to production deployment.
• Translate supply chain and operational challenges into measurable optimization objectives.
• Develop and productionize optimization models for routing, transportation, network planning, inventory, and PO allocation.
• Run rigorous experimentation (e.g., backtesting and validation) to evaluate methodologies and measurable impact.
• Drive adoption of AI-native workflows for OR, including LLM-assisted formulation and AI-assisted experiment design.
• Set technical direction for the India-based OR team and partner with teams across Bangalore and Palo Alto.
• Mentor Data Scientists/OR practitioners and raise engineering and scientific standards.

What you'll need

• 9–12 years of experience in Operations Research, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, or related quantitative disciplines.
• Deep expertise in optimization methods such as LP, MIP, constraint programming, vehicle routing, network flow, metaheuristics, and stochastic optimization.
• Experience owning OR/optimization workstreams end-to-end, including measurable business impact from production deployment.
• Strong expertise in supply chain optimization areas including warehouse operations, transportation, inventory, network planning, logistics, or procurement.
• Engineering capability to productionize solutions including feature pipelines, solver integration, model serving, and experimentation infrastructure.
• Experience working with real-world operational datasets that may be large, noisy, sparse, or non-stationary.
• Strong experimentation, backtesting, model evaluation, and scientific validation skills.
