Staff Engineer

Overview

Staff Engineer on the Digital Solutions R&D group at Beckman Coulter Diagnostics, responsible for architecting, designing, coding, debugging and implementing software features and enhancements for the cloud platform, working collaboratively with the team.

What you'll do

• Understand the overall requirements of the product/platform and of the assigned feature/module.
• Design and develop code as per software requirements and generate unit test cases.
• Develop quick prototypes to demonstrate design concepts and product ideas to the team and management.
• Investigate software and system problems, fix defects and track them to closure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (locally and globally) to ensure product releases meet quality, performance, scalability, reliability and schedule goals.
• Work independently as well as with SMEs.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, with 15+ years of proven experience in Java/J2EE/.Net programming.
• At least 10 years of experience in front-end web development using modern frameworks such as AngularJS or React on Azure Cloud.
• Experience working with Gen AI based product development.
• Hands-on experience with JavaScript, REST APIs, microservice architecture, DevOps, continuous integration, delivery and deployment, and version control (e.g., git).
• Experience in system design and architecture, including reviewing large-scale system designs.
• Experience creating flow diagrams, UML, and threat models.
• Experience collaborating with different product teams and communicating with stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience in medical device design and development in an Agile environment.
• Understanding of software development processes for a regulated environment (FDA/ISO 13485) and experience in medical device verification.
