Staff Engineer – SoC Validation Framework & Infrastructure

Overview

Staff Engineer on Qualcomm's System Validation & Emulation (SVE) organization, developing scalable software frameworks, tools, and infrastructure for pre-silicon and post-silicon SoC validation.

What you'll do

• Develop scalable software frameworks, tools, and infrastructure for pre-silicon and post-silicon SoC validation.
• Perform embedded/system software development, silicon bring-up, and validation automation.
• Carry out complex hardware-software debugging across multicore SoC platforms.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience, OR Master's degree in the same fields and 3+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience, OR PhD in the same fields and 2+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
• 8–11 years of relevant industry experience in Embedded Software, System Software, SoC Validation, Silicon Enablement, Platform Software, or Validation Framework/Infrastructure Development.
• Strong programming expertise in C/C++, Assembly, Python & Shell.
• Embedded/System Software and validation framework/infrastructure development.
• Strong understanding of ARMv8/ARMv9, multicore and heterogeneous SoC architectures.
• Experience with Linux/RTOS, boot flows, interrupts, MMU and low-level software.
• Knowledge of cache coherency, memory ordering, synchronization and memory subsystems.
• Hands-on experience with pre-silicon/emulation, FPGA and post-silicon validation/debug.
• Debugging using JTAG/Trace32 and similar silicon debug tools.
• Experience with GCC/Clang/LLVM, build systems, Makefiles and linker scripts.
• Exposure to CI/CD, validation automation and regression infrastructure.

Nice to have

• Experience with silicon/board bring-up, hardware-software integration, reusable validation frameworks, and SoC infrastructure development.
