Staff Machine Learning Engineer

Overview

Lead the design, development, evaluation, and productionization of machine learning and AI solutions that improve search relevance and discovery. The role combines machine learning, information retrieval, search relevance, and software engineering.

What you'll do

• Own the technical roadmap for ML and AI-driven relevance solutions.
• Provide architecture leadership for search relevance systems.
• Design and enhance ML models and algorithms for search and relevance.
• Own model evaluation and experimentation frameworks.
• Analyze queries, catalogs, behavioral data, and relevance data to drive improvements.
• Integrate and scale ML components in production systems.
• Mentor engineers and influence cross-team technical decisions.

What you'll need

• 8+ years building production ML-driven systems and algorithms.
• BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Strong Python programming skills and proficiency in Java or Go.
• Experience building low-latency, scalable distributed systems in a cloud environment.
• Strong background in search, information retrieval, ranking, or search relevance.
• Hands-on experience applying LLMs to search or ML problems.
• Experience with NLP, search quality techniques, and PyTorch or TensorFlow.

Nice to have

• Experience building or using LLM evaluation frameworks.
• Experience implementing hybrid search architectures.
