Overview
Staff Product Manager role for OpenTelemetry Experience, owning the end-to-end journey that helps people and agents instrument workloads and send useful OpenTelemetry data to Grafana Cloud.
What you'll do
- Define the vision, strategy, and cross-product roadmap for the journey from uninstrumented workloads to healthy telemetry.
- Own the end-to-end experience across SDK onboarding, automatic instrumentation, and client-side OpenTelemetry Collector deployment.
- Reduce uncertainty and failure points during adoption, setup, troubleshooting, and validation of telemetry in Grafana Cloud.
- Identify and eliminate leading causes of setup failure, abandonment, misconfiguration, and low-quality telemetry.
- Establish shared experience principles, priorities, and success criteria across product and engineering teams.
- Partner with downstream solution teams to ensure a first-class experience from initial setup through first value.
- Contribute to product positioning and go-to-market with Product Marketing and GTM teams.
What you'll need
- 5+ years of Product Management experience.
- Strong track record in developer tools, observability, infrastructure, data platforms, or another technically complex B2B domain.
- Strong working knowledge of OpenTelemetry (SDK instrumentation, OTLP, Collector pipelines, telemetry context, semantic conventions).
- Experience using or building instrumentation systems, agents, telemetry collectors, configuration products, or related infrastructure.
- Understanding of deployment and operating challenges across Kubernetes, virtual machines, and public cloud environments.
- Experience turning complex onboarding/configuration/troubleshooting workflows into approachable product experiences.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for remote, globally distributed influence across technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
