Staff Security Engineer

Overview

Staff Security Engineer (Threat Hunting) for Twilio’s Threat Detection and Response team, focused on detective tooling, threat mitigation, incident response, and automation.

What you'll do

• Participate in daily operations including on-call rotation.
• Architect and develop detective tooling and security automation.
• Contribute to application/system threat modeling and Incident Response activities.
• Help align Detection and Response vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmaps.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to address challenges across threat actors and activities.
• Conduct technology/security research and architecture reviews for platform defense.
• Build relationships with internal customers and provide mentorship to the team.

What you'll need

• 3+ years of security engineering in a production-cloud environment.
• Subject-matter expertise in security issues and technologies.
• Experience designing and building AI Agents and agentic workflows.
• Ability to use AI for comprehensive, complex threat hunting with high-fidelity detections.
• Experience detecting/responding to AI threats following MITRE ATLAS or similar framework.
• Advanced knowledge of service-oriented architectures and cloud security tools/technologies.
• Experience with SIEM, SOAR, and automating manual security processes.
