Staff Software Engineer

Overview

Lead hands-on engineering for forecasting and recommendations platforms, with a focus on production-grade AI and agentic systems. Design, build, and operate high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems while owning reliability and technical direction.

What you'll do

• Design and operate systems for forecasting, recommendations, and agentic AI workflows.
• Own services from design through on-call support and incident resolution.
• Architect APIs, data pipelines, model inference, and agent orchestration.
• Build agentic applications with tool-using agents, workflow orchestration, and guardrails.
• Select and deploy LLMs based on latency, cost, and reliability tradeoffs.
• Lead observability, incident response, retrospectives, and systemic fixes.
• Set technical direction and influence architecture across teams.

What you'll need

• 12+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Hands-on ownership of production-grade distributed systems and business-critical services.
• Expertise in systems design, scalability, concurrency, data modeling, and failure handling.
• Production experience with machine learning-driven systems and supporting infrastructure.
• Expertise with AWS and hands-on experience with Kubernetes, microservices, and CI/CD.
• Experience operating software in on-premises and AWS environments.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, Go, Scala, or another backend language, plus a relevant degree or equivalent practical experience.
