Staff Software Engineer - RnD Enablement.

Overview

Lead platform engineering for Hinge Health’s Service Enablement team, building services, automation, and engineering practices that help teams ship software safely and efficiently. This hands-on Staff Engineer role spans developer experience, cloud platforms, reliability, observability, security, CI/CD, and AI/ML enablement.

What you'll do

• Own multi-quarter technical roadmaps for Service Enablement domains.
• Lead architecture and design for highly available, secure platforms and services.
• Build paved roads, automation, reusable frameworks, and self-service workflows.
• Set standards for SLOs, alerting, incident response, capacity, and production readiness.
• Support reliable and cost-efficient AI/ML workloads, including inference systems.
• Lead RFCs, design reviews, prototypes, and technical decision records.
• Mentor engineers and drive large initiatives through production adoption.

What you'll need

• 10+ years of professional software development or equivalent production-systems experience.
• 4+ years with TypeScript/JavaScript, Go, Python, or another modern programming language.
• 4+ years across software design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operations.
• 4+ years with cloud infrastructure and containerized workloads such as AWS, Kubernetes, or EKS.
• Experience with distributed systems, reliability, scalability, performance, and platform contracts.
• Experience operating production systems, including observability, incident response, and root-cause analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Nice to have

• Experience building internal developer platforms, CI/CD systems, or self-service infrastructure.
• Experience with platform security, AI/ML infrastructure, SLOs and SLAs, or large-scale data systems.
• Experience mentoring senior engineers or leading platform migrations.
• Experience in healthcare, privacy-sensitive, regulated, or high-trust environments.

Details

• Bengaluru-based hybrid role requiring office attendance 3 days per week.
• Applicants should be open to late-evening IST meetings from 8:30 pm to 10:30 pm.
