Staff Software Engineer

Overview

Staff Software Engineer on the Veeam Data Cloud (VDC) engineering team, building next-generation data protection services for global customers on greenfield projects deployed worldwide.

What you'll do

• Define and drive the technical vision for multiple areas within the team and lead cross-team deliverables.
• Design and develop highly reliable and scalable SaaS microservices integrated with cloud-based managed services using Golang.
• Participate in technical design discussions, review code, and provide feedback to other engineers.
• Solve the hardest, most ambiguous team-wide challenges and develop frameworks for others to follow.
• Drive team deliverables in a timely and predictable fashion and set execution standards across the team.
• Ensure code is high-quality, thoroughly tested, and secure.
• Facilitate effective collaboration across the engineering organization and help others understand the team's technology.
• Participate in the on-call rotation for product operations.

What you'll need

• 10+ years of experience in the software development industry.
• Demonstrated expertise designing, building, and implementing SaaS or large-scale cloud services on Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Expertise with a modern programming language such as Go, C#, Java, Scala, or Rust.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other container and orchestration tools.
• Experience designing and implementing event-driven architectures.
• Expertise in developing, testing, and debugging production-quality, scalable, concurrent systems.
• Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals (data structures and algorithms).
• Passion for code quality, extensibility, coding standards, testing, and automation.

Nice to have

• Experience in the data protection industry.
