Staff, Software Engineer

Overview

Staff Software Engineer for WEX’s Benefits Technology team, building and improving employer benefits software solutions. You’ll partner with Product Managers and customers to design, test, and deliver high-quality services.

What you'll do

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand customers’ biggest challenges.
• Design, test, code, and instrument new software solutions.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Strengthen engineering practices using TDD/BDD and microservice/vertical slice architectures.
• Support live applications with proactive monitoring and rapid incident response.

What you'll need

• Have at least 10 years of software engineering experience.
• Hold a bachelor’s degree in CS/Software Engineering (or equivalent demonstrable experience).
• Use C# and/or Python (if applicable).
• Develop APIs with ASP.NET RESTful API design.
• Work with Kafka for event-driven design.
• Use Docker, modern RDBMS (MS SQL/Postgres), and Kubernetes.
• Have knowledge of modern web UI frameworks (Angular/React/Blazor), plus NoSQL databases.
