Overview
Staff Software Engineer to own and drive technical direction for complex integration challenges in a fast-paced Agile environment.
What you'll do
- Own the design and technical direction for state-of-the-art integrations across connected carriers and customers.
- Manage integrations end-to-end, driving monitoring, operations, and improvements for the owned supply chain visibility platform.
- Ensure data consistency and change propagation for shared master data via event-driven changelog/CDC pipelines.
- Design resilient integrations with external (non-p44) API providers, including rate limits, retries, and circuit-breaking.
- Build and deliver systems in a multi-cloud environment using AWS and GCP.
- Lead cross-functional technical discussions, align requirements with stakeholders, and proactively address issues affecting adjacent teams.
- Share ownership across development, operations, and test; set standards for code quality and maintainability; lead on-call tooling, monitoring, and automation; mentor engineers.
What you'll need
- 9+ years of professional experience building large-scale, real-time or near-real-time cloud systems.
- Strong programming and debugging skills with deep proficiency in Java.
- Demonstrated experience owning technical solutions end-to-end and leading execution across a team.
- Experience building systems in a multi-cloud environment (AWS & GCP; other clouds such as Azure valued).
- Experience creating and working with scalable Java-based micro-services with architecture-level decisions.
- Experience with databases (preferably Postgres or other SQL-based DB) and document stores such as MongoDB.
- Experience with event stores and stream-processing in Kafka or Kinesis, including change-data-capture/changelog publishing patterns.
