Staff Software Engineer

Overview

Serve as a Staff Product Development Engineer supporting and maintaining Disney Ad Technology’s BI and analytics platforms. Provide technical leadership for platform stability, incident response, optimization, automation, and team mentorship.

What you'll do

• Administer and optimize Snowflake, MicroStrategy SaaS, Qlik, Looker, and Semarchy platforms.
• Lead platform upgrades, patches, and migrations.
• Manage access, security settings, and system integrations.
• Implement monitoring, alarms, and dashboards using Datadog or CloudWatch.
• Lead high-severity incident response and root cause analysis.
• Develop Terraform and scripting automation for administration and monitoring.
• Mentor engineers and improve documentation, training, and runbooks.

What you'll need

• 6+ years of BI/analytics platform support or infrastructure engineering experience.
• At least 2+ years in a senior or lead role.
• Hands-on experience administering listed BI and analytics platforms.
• Expertise with AWS services including RDS, S3, Lambda, IAM, and VPC.
• Experience with observability, high-severity incident response, and root cause analysis.
• Experience with Terraform and scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Relevant MicroStrategy, Qlik, or AWS certifications.
• Experience supporting CI/CD workflows for BI or analytics deployments.
• Familiarity with AIOps or automated monitoring practices.
• Background in large-scale enterprise BI environments.
