Staff Software Engineer

Overview

Staff Software Engineer building infrastructure system software components for Linux/Fabric OS, including user or kernel-level components.

What you'll do

• Build system software components running on Linux/Fabric OS for infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and support infrastructure components across multiple parallel releases.
• Perform performance tuning to meet scalability requirements for infra components.
• Port applications to new Linux kernels.
• Work with technical teams across geographies and time zones.
• Partner with testing, documentation, and customer support teams.

What you'll need

• Have a 4-year undergraduate degree.
• Have 8 to 12 years of work experience in a software product company.
• Work experience on Linux/Unix platforms using C/C++ languages.
• Knowledge of at least one scripting language (preferably Python).
• Familiarity with software development lifecycle for products with multiple release streams.
• Good written and verbal communication skills to develop functional specs, unit test plans, and implementation design specs.
