Staff Software Engineer, IDM Engineering

Overview

Staff Software Engineer developing features and capabilities for PingIDM identity management products. The role focuses on large-scale Java systems, cloud deployments, security, quality, testability, and performance.

What you'll do

• Design and develop single- and multi-tenant Java identity management products.
• Analyze and refine requirements with product management and architects.
• Develop new features for the PingIDM platform.
• Plan, estimate, and independently manage development tasks.
• Enable successful cloud deployments.
• Collaborate with distributed engineering teams.
• Resolve customer issues with customer-facing support teams.

What you'll need

• Wide experience designing and developing large-scale Java applications.
• Strong understanding of HTTP and RESTful web services.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud architectures and deployment strategies.
• Experience using AI agents such as Claude Code to plan, validate, and implement functionality.
• Ability to learn quickly and understand complex features and environments independently.

Nice to have

• Experience with identity management technologies and protocols.
• Understanding of enterprise-scale security systems and configurations.
• Experience building performant systems that deploy and execute at scale.

Details

• Remote role in the United States.
• Salary range: $132,000–$165,000 yearly.
