Overview

Staff+ Software Engineer for Anthropic’s Public Sector team, working to deploy Claude for U.S. government and allied democratic institutions in regulated environments.

What you'll do

• Build Claude products for customer use in highly regulated environments.
• Deploy Claude into government networks.
• Improve Claude’s usefulness in government workflows such as policy research and benefits administration.
• Architect and ship compliant deployments from FedRAMP to classified networks.
• Partner with research and safeguards teams to evaluate and improve Claude for government use cases.
• Work with government customers and internal go-to-market teams to translate requirements into technical and product roadmaps.
• Design scalable systems for deployment, user management, and administrative controls in constrained environments.

What you'll need

• Experience building AI products with an intuition for their capabilities and limitations.
• A track record building and shipping enterprise- or government-grade products.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with teams such as sales, legal, research, and policy.
• 8+ years of experience as a full stack or backend software engineer.
• Experience deploying software on government networks.
• Active federal security clearance at Secret level or above.
• U.S. citizenship with verification via a passport or other approved documents, or clearance.

• Hybrid work: expected to be in an office at least 25% of the time.
