Staff Software Engineer - Security Agent

Overview

Staff Software Engineer for Datadog’s Security Agent team, leading low-level Linux instrumentation and runtime security technologies.

What you'll do

• Lead architecture and development of security agent capabilities for runtime threat detection and workload protection.
• Design and build reusable eBPF-based monitoring for process, file, and network visibility on Linux.
• Drive end-to-end delivery of security agent features from strategy and design to rollout.
• Establish and evolve testing methodologies to improve coverage, detection quality, reliability, and performance.
• Partner with product, security, infrastructure, and engineering teams for shared platform capabilities.
• Provide technical leadership through influencing direction, mentoring peers, and resolving complex cross-functional issues.

What you'll need

• Significant experience building software in Linux environments with knowledge of Linux internals/kernel APIs or systems programming.
• Hands-on experience with eBPF, kernel-level instrumentation, and related low-level technologies.
• Experience building and running performance- and reliability-critical systems.
• Experience building and maintaining production software across diverse Linux distributions and kernel versions.
• Product-minded and customer-focused approach balancing technical excellence with customer impact and usability.
