Staff Software Engineer (Systems & Network Proxy)

Overview

Staff Software Engineer (Systems & Network Proxy) to extend and own an on-endpoint network proxy that intercepts and manipulates network traffic.

What you'll do

• Hook or redirect outbound connections, terminate and re-establish TLS sessions, and apply content-aware policies in real time.
• Add low-level collectors to trace data flows across apps, files, sockets, and pipes into a unified event stream.
• Optimize performance for software monitoring hundreds of thousands of events with minimal endpoint impact.
• Design and build highly reliable code that never impacts the end-user experience.
• Build secure-by-design hardened software that withstands real-world attacks and processes untrusted data.
• Communicate with a backend over the internet.

What you'll need

• 6+ years of professional experience in systems software, networking, proxy, or security engineering.
• Strong depth in network interception and low-level systems.
• Strong track record in network interception and parsing.
• Prior work on at least one forward proxy used by security software.
• Experience debugging, profiling, and optimizing performance of low-level system software.
• Experience with agile development and SCRUM.
• Availability to frequently communicate with a distributed engineering team in Central European and US Eastern time zones.
