Staff Support Engineer ( L4 )

Overview

Staff Software Development Support Engineer (L4) responsible for leading technical direction on complex, customer-impacting investigations in the Software Development Support (SDS) organization.

What you'll do

• Own and drive complex escalated issues from intake through resolution.
• Lead escalations and guide technical approach for diagnostics and operability.
• Perform deep troubleshooting across software, cloud, and infrastructure layers.
• Analyze logs, metrics, and telemetry across distributed systems to identify root cause.
• Reproduce issues using scripts, automation, and test environments.
• Submit and review pull requests for fixes, observability improvements, and tooling.
• Mentor SDS engineers and lead technical design and postmortem reviews.

What you'll need

• 10+ years in software development or a related role.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across software and systems.
• Experience reading, debugging, and modifying code.
• Strong ownership mindset, comfortable driving issues independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfort working without scripted procedures.
• Background in networking, security, or distributed systems.
