Job description

Overview

The Supply Planner translates the agreed demand plan into a feasible, executable supply plan that ensures product availability while balancing manufacturing capacity, inventory, service and cost, across the three-month supply plan, the one-month production plan and weekly production requirements.

What you'll do

  • Receive the agreed demand / consensus forecast from Demand Planning and translate it into supply and production requirements by SKU, plant and supply location.
  • Convert unconstrained demand into a realistic constrained supply plan, considering manufacturing capability, inventory, material availability and other supply-chain constraints.
  • Assess changes in demand and determine their impact on production, capacity and inventory.
  • Develop and maintain the rolling three-month supply plan based on the latest approved demand.
  • Translate the medium-term plan into a detailed rolling one-month production requirement.
  • Convert the monthly plan into weekly production requirements / schedules in coordination with manufacturing teams.
  • Evaluate demand against available manufacturing capability and proactively identify supply constraints, including line capacity, OEE and utilization, shifts, maintenance, changeovers, minimum runs, labour, quality restrictions, yield, material availability, shutdowns and external manufacturing limits.
  • For significant constraints, assess the affected SKU, quantity and period, and determine the impact on product availability.
  • Ensure appropriate finished-goods availability to support customer demand.
  • Maintain forward visibility of projected inventory and days of cover by SKU / location, identify potential stock-outs before they occur and initiate preventive actions.
  • Work closely with manufacturing teams to agree feasible production plans and priorities, and validate their feasibility against capacity, inventory and materials.
  • Provide the consolidated supply view as an input into the S&OP / IBP process, highlighting supply-demand gaps, capacity constraints, inventory concerns and key supply risks, and develop scenarios and recommendations for unresolved issues.
  • Incorporate new product launches, promotions, relaunches, pack changes and seasonal events into the supply plan, and coordinate with Demand Planning, Commercial, Marketing and Manufacturing to ensure supply readiness.
  • Maintain forward visibility of potential supply risks across manufacturing and the wider supply network, assess the impact of production losses, demand changes and material shortages, and develop recovery and contingency scenarios.

What you'll need

  • MBA or equivalent degree, with specialization in Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in Supply Planning, Production Planning, Inventory Planning, Materials Planning or a related Supply Chain role.

Nice to have

  • Specialization in Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics or a related discipline (preferred).
  • Experience in FMCG, Foods, Consumer Products or a high-volume manufacturing environment (preferred).
  • Exposure to multiple SKUs, production lines, plants and distribution locations (advantageous).
  • Understanding of S&OP / IBP / S&OE processes (desirable).

Details

  • Location: Gurgaon, Haryana, India.
