Overview
The Supply Planning Modeler owns the system and modelling capability across the mid-term (S&OP) and short-term (S&OE) planning cycles, maintaining the capacity model in SAP IBP and building comparable scenarios for supply planners and decision-makers.
What you'll do
- Own the capacity model and related planning master data in SAP IBP.
- Use the master data dashboard to identify gaps or inaccuracies in production run rates, changeover constraints, material lead times, resource calendars and other planning parameters.
- Coordinate corrections with supply planners and master data stewards responsible for source data in ECC/S/4HANA.
- Run SAP IBP heuristics and planning algorithms to identify constraints across the supply network.
- Generate system alerts for capacity bottlenecks, material shortages, safety stock violations, and demand-supply imbalances.
- Build comparable scenarios with consistent assumptions so supply planners in the mid-term and short-term can evaluate alternatives.
- Ensure scenarios are structured, repeatable, and documented so leadership can compare options on a level playing field.
- Execute resolution modelling in SAP S4 ePPDS and SAP IBP to test proposed solutions before they are committed.
- Validate feasibility of allocation changes, schedule adjustments, and capacity rebalancing options.
- Drive digital twin development as organizational maturity evolves, progressing from heuristic-based planning to optimizer-driven planning and ultimately AI/Joule-enabled autonomous planning.
- Own planning parameters, ensuring safety stock targets, lot sizes, planning horizons, and aggregation rules are correctly configured and regularly reviewed.
- Escalate and correct at source any issues identified through modelling or business plan validation.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Industrial Engineering, Data Science, Operations Research, or a related field.
- 5–8 years of experience in supply chain planning with a strong focus on system modelling, advanced planning tools, and data-driven decision support within the pharmaceutical or animal health industry.
- SAP IBP power user with deep proficiency in Response & Supply, including heuristics, key figure management, planning operators, and scenario versioning.
- SAP S4 ePPDS proficiency for detailed production scheduling and resolution modelling.
- Data and parameter ownership mindset with rigorous attention to master data accuracy and planning parameter governance.
- Analytical rigour in scenario design, ensuring assumptions are consistent, documented, and reproducible.
- Readiness to evolve through maturity stages: heuristic-based planning, optimizer-driven planning, and AI/Joule-enabled autonomous planning.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Power BI for building and maintaining supply planning dashboards and analytics.
- Understanding of digital twin concepts and their application to supply chain planning.
