SW Development Engineer 1

Overview

Remote SW Development Engineer 1 on the Data Platforms team, building the infrastructure for data pipelines, storage and APIs that deliver reliable, clean data to internal and external stakeholders.

What you'll do

• Develop cloud-based, high availability and high scalability software systems that integrate with machine learning and AI systems as part of a multi-disciplinary Agile team.
• Contribute to software across the development lifecycle, including software design, code development, functional and performance testing, and documentation and design verification.
• Identify, champion and implement improvements to internal processes, including automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, and optimizing software infrastructure for scalability, maintainability and cost efficiency.
• Contribute to code reviews and champion best practices for quality control, software testing and code development/deployment in an agile environment.
• Work with others to understand the design, architecture and coding of existing internally developed applications so you can maintain and update them.
• Support QA in diagnosing and resolving bugs during testing and in production.
• Participate in on-call rotation for applications when required.

What you'll need

• Strong programming skills, with Kotlin/Java preferred, or other major programming languages.
• Familiarity with relevant, modern software test tools and equipment.
• Proven ability to learn new tools and technology.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment with short deadlines, interruptions, and several simultaneous tasks and projects.
• Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and a minimum of 0-2 years of related experience.

Details

• Remote role; location is a home office. Assigned to one of Dexcom's HUB regions: CA, Pacific NW, Texas or Chicago.
• You are not required to live within commuting distance of a Dexcom site (typically 75 miles/120km). If you do, a hybrid working environment may be available; ask about the Flex workplace option.
• Travel required: 0-5%.
• Software for medical devices and systems must conform to ISO and FDA regulatory requirements.
• Salary: $68,200.00 - $113,600.00.
