SW Engineer II

Overview

Software Engineer II role at NCR Atleos in Hyderabad, building large-scale, high-availability applications for self-service banking, working as a strong individual contributor and/or mentor.

What you'll do

• Deliver high-quality large-scale applications that adhere to ever increasing demands of availability, reliability, security and performance that enable an optimal consumer experience as a strong individual contributor and/or mentor.
• Contribute to development in Java, Spring boot as a major and two or more complementing skills e.g. Postgres, React, DevOps, Azure etc.
• Learn and use technologies based on project and work need.
• Design beyond scope if necessary to build right solution.
• Exhibit outside-in & design-based thinking to identify critical customer needs beyond scope of requirements.
• Consult with internal & external stakeholders to gather understanding of domain, customer & strategic requirements.
• Define features to stories and effectively translate the design into software design, recognizing where gaps in understanding exist that can impact building of code.
• Participate in design reviews/code walkthroughs with developers and architects to ensure testability/supportability of software.
• Identify and highlight gaps in team expertise.
• Participate in discussions with customer and/or product management to ensure products add value and meet customer needs.
• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to take ownership and drive effective technical solutions.
• Be a problem solver in the team.
• Be part of a global, collaborative team who is always on the hunt for ways to improve and upgrade our products.

What you'll need

• A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• 1+ years of experience full-stack development using Java, Microservices, Cloud.
• Experience with Core Java, J2EE, Spring boot, Micro services, AngularJS, JavaScript and/or other web-based technology.
• Working knowledge on two or more complementing skills e.g. GCP, Azure, Database, Python, React etc.
• Practical experience incorporating AI into software engineering workflows, including leveraging GitHub Copilot, developing AI agents, and integrating AI capabilities into the development lifecycle.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with quick adaptation to new technologies/methodologies.
• Expert understanding of core computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, design patterns and concurrent programming.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical co-workers.
• Everything required to become a young, dynamic professional with paramount energy.
• Strong desire to continually learn new technologies, tools, and methodologies, including those out of your comfort zone.
• Your own views and do not hesitate to speak about those.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and on diverse problems, under minimal supervision, with guidance from senior team members. You know how to balance multiple projects (with varying priorities, of course!) all at once.
