SW Test Development Engineer 1

Overview

Build quality into Dexcom continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) software by writing automated and manual tests, validating software and systems, and contributing to requirements, design and release process improvements.

What you'll do

• Write automated tests and perform ad hoc testing throughout the development cycle.
• Contribute to the development of software requirements and design specifications.
• Design, develop, execute and maintain automated and manual test scripts to validate Dexcom CGM software and systems.
• Create verification and validation test plans, traceability matrices and test reports, and review them with relevant stakeholders.
• Record and track issues using the bug tracking system.
• Analyze test failures and collaborate with development teams to investigate root causes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of the release process.

What you'll need

• 1–3 years of hands-on experience in software development or software test development using Python or other object-oriented programming languages.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience in automated test development for API testing.
• Experience with a variety of automated testing frameworks, including Robot Framework.
• Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 1-3 years of related experience.

Nice to have

• Experience in the medical device industry and familiarity with FDA design control processes (highly desired).
• Strong understanding of API testing, microservices and distributed systems in cloud environments.
• Experience with automated UI testing.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud or AWS.
• Experience with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of GCP tools such as Airflow, Dataflow and BigQuery.
• Experience with distributed event streaming platforms such as Kafka.
• Experience with performance testing.
• CI/CD experience, especially with cloud-based technologies.
• Five or more years of Agile development and test development experience.
