Systems, Engineer V

Overview

Support daily operations and administration for information technology systems and infrastructure, with responsibility for the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.2 platform strategy, governance, reliability, security, and disaster recovery readiness. Provide technical leadership, lead project teams, and manage external vendors without direct people management.

What you'll do

• Define and lead the JDE EnterpriseOne 9.2 platform roadmap and governance, including licensing strategy, vendor relationships, and budget planning.
• Drive patch management, software upgrade planning and execution, and vulnerability remediation across the JDE environment and companion applications.
• Design and maintain high availability and disaster recovery architectures for JDE 9.2, validate recovery plans, and conduct readiness testing.
• Own planning, design, and operation of virtual and physical servers, storage area network architecture, backup and recovery solutions, and related infrastructure supporting JDE and other enterprise applications.
• Oversee application installations, upgrades, migrations, and platform configuration; monitor system health and performance and recommend improvements.
• Manage inventory and lifecycle for infrastructure hardware and software resources supporting JDE and its companion systems.
• Collaborate with business and technical partners to translate requirements into scalable, secure architecture and operational processes.
• Evaluate, implement, and operate infrastructure and controls to maintain data integrity and security and meet regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and may lead project teams and manage external vendors; this role does not include direct people management.

What you'll need

• 10+ years of experience supporting enterprise systems operations and core infrastructure services.
• Strong background in server and storage architecture, including management of storage area networks, virtualization platforms, and backup and recovery technologies.
• Expertise in systems administration across Windows and UNIX operating environments and experience deploying and maintaining enterprise application platforms.
• Experience with patch management, change control, release management, and software upgrade processes for critical systems.
• JDE CNC implementation specialist certification or equivalent.
• AWS Cloud Practitioner certification.
• Demonstrated experience leading JD Edwards EnterpriseOne version 9.2 platform strategy, including licensing, vendor governance, budget planning, patching, upgrades, vulnerability remediation, and regulatory compliance.

• Proven experience designing and operating high availability and disaster recovery solutions for enterprise applications.
• Comfort using AI-enabled tools and automation to improve system reliability, monitoring, incident response, and documentation.
• Strong background in server and storage architecture, including management of storage area networks, virtualization platforms, and backup and recovery technologies.
• Expertise in systems administration across Windows and UNIX operating environments and experience deploying and maintaining enterprise application platforms.
• Experience with patch management, change control, release management, and software upgrade processes for critical systems.
• Knowledge of security and compliance controls relevant to enterprise application platforms and supporting infrastructure.
• Track record of partnering with business teams and technical peers to define requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
• Leadership experience mentoring technical staff and leading cross-functional projects.
• Ability to analyze complex operational issues and implement durable solutions.
• Experience developing innovative solutions to complex problems aligned with organizational objectives.
• Experience addressing intricate issues requiring in-depth analysis and judgment.
• Experience engaging with key contacts outside your expertise area and contributing to the development of new concepts and standards.
• Ability to operate with considerable autonomy, serve as a consultant to management and an external spokesperson on major matters, work independently, and lead function teams or projects.
• Experience training and mentoring junior staff.
