About the Job
As a Technical Project Manager (Internship) working remotely, you will coordinate small engineering teams building modern web applications using a JavaScript-first stack. This role blends technical oversight with project execution: you will help define roadmaps, translate product requirements into engineering tasks, and ensure reliable deployments on platforms like Vercel and render. The ideal candidate has hands-on familiarity with frontend and backend technologies—enough to facilitate technical discussions, unblock developers, and maintain clarity between stakeholders—while developing strong program management skills in an agile, fast-paced environment.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day planning and coordination of development work including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and retrospectives in an Agile framework.
- Translate product goals into clear tasks, acceptance criteria, and timelines; maintain a visible roadmap and communicate progress to stakeholders.
- Work closely with engineers using React.js, Node.js, and MongoDB to prioritize technical debt, refinements, and release scopes.
- Oversee deployment workflows and release processes on Vercel and render, coordinating rollouts, rollbacks, and post-release monitoring.
- Ensure robust database management practices, including schema changes, migration planning, and data integrity checks.
- Identify risks and dependencies early, propose mitigation plans, and escalate issues to keep delivery on track.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with design, QA, and product teams; maintain transparent status reporting and documentation.
- Support onboarding and mentorship for junior engineers and interns, fostering knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Familiarity with React.js and modern frontend patterns (component-driven design, state management, testing).
- Comfortable with Node.js backend fundamentals and RESTful API design.
- Practical experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases and general database management concepts (indexes, sharding, migrations).
- Experience or exposure to deployment platforms such as Vercel and render, and basic CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills; ability to write clear specs and actionable tickets.
- Familiarity with project tools (e.g., Jira, Git workflows, Trello) and metrics-driven delivery (KPIs, burn-downs).
- A proactive, learning-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently in a fully remote setting.
