Technical Risk Assurance, Specialist

Overview

Provides technical expertise on the development and support of activities, processes, and tools for assessing, validating, and ensuring the vulnerability and integrity of systems, including vulnerability scans, intrusion detection support, disaster recovery and secure coding practices.

What you'll do

• Manage asset inventory and assessment schedules, provide metrics on security consulting resources, and assist with managing vendor relationships.
• Support security assessments to measure the adequacy of existing information security controls.
• Identify potential and actual system vulnerabilities and emerging strategic security needs, and recommend corrective measures.
• Participate in and document evaluation and assessment of security requirements for data systems, networks, or websites.
• Support the review, development, testing, and implementation of security plans, risk assessments, products and control techniques.
• Consult with IT sub-divisions, third party partners, senior technical risk assurance associates and business units to define standard consistent reporting formats and provide standard data reports.
• Support technical assessments of assets, risks, and the implementation of appropriate data security procedures and products.
• Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
• Conduct vulnerability scans on web applications and infrastructure, escalating findings for remediation.
• Assist in forensic analysis and monitor system logs for early detection of security breaches.
• Coordinate virus protection efforts and support intrusion detection system (IDS) tuning and monitoring.
• Provide technical support in implementing secure coding practices and validating security controls during development cycles.
• Aid in execution of disaster recovery and data backup procedures aligned with risk mitigation plans.
