Overview
As a Technical Specialist-Technical support within the MRI R&D organization, you will install, support, maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot MRI systems within the Development Test Environment (DTE). You will help ensure the availability, safety, quality, and performance of MRI systems used by verification, validation, and development teams in Bangalore.
What you'll do
- Install and maintain MRI systems, hardware-simulated machines for test configurations, and hardware prototypes in test bays and software/hardware labs.
- Support R&D teams with interoperability settings of test environments.
- Maintain the technical status and safe operation of the test bay.
- Install high-power electrical components of an MR system.
- Calibrate and adjust MR test configurations to ensure overall test bay quality.
- Baseline the performance of MR test configurations.
- Analyze and debug problems reported with MR test configurations.
- Analyze root causes of image quality problems, including spikes, ghosts, and spurious signals.
- Determine the root cause of scan aborts and other development-related problems.
- Analyze performance problems and proactively involve others when required.
- Coach colleagues on DTE-related aspects.
- Maintain extensive MR system knowledge across various configurations.
- Control MR test configurations in a time- and cost-efficient manner.
- Plan and allocate the daily management and operations of MR test configurations.
- Manage inbound and outbound logistics for MRI R&D systems, including procurement, shipment coordination, receipt and inspection of goods, and accurate documentation in configuration management tools.
- Manage asset inventory for MR test configurations.
- Participate in integration, test, and verification phases of MR development projects.
- Generate proposals for improvement in large areas of the MR system and support others and DTE development processes.
- Provide second- and third-level support.
- Support system verification and validation activities, customer demonstrations, and advanced development activities.
- Proactively monitor technical aspects of MRI systems installed in test bays.
- Provide training for newly onboarded employees on MR safety and operations.
- Manage access control.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Field Service Engineering, Research & Development (R&D), or a related technical environment in MRI systems.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure and in challenging situations.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues across hardware and software domains.
- Hands-on experience in MRI service and maintenance.
- Valid MRI modality training.
- Practical experience in managing and servicing MRI cryogenic systems.
- Collaborative team player with a proactive, hands-on approach.
- Strong presentation and influencing skills, with the ability to effectively communicate ideas and gain stakeholder alignment.
- High attention to detail and a strong quality mindset in documentation and compliance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- This is an office-based role.
- Office-based teams work in-person at least 3 days per week.
- Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.
