Technical Staff Engineer - CAD

Overview

Technical Staff Engineer (CAD) to support CAD activities for next-generation Microchip FPGA devices, including design flow robustness, tooling support, and vendor interfaces.

What you'll do

• Work on industry-standard CAD activities for next-generation Microchip FPGA devices.
• Partner with Engineering Services, Design teams, and Operations to ensure design flows and tools are robust and reliable.
• Provide front-line support for Microchip staff using CAD tools and flows.
• Coordinate with external tool vendors and suppliers to resolve issues and provide guidance.
• Support analog design by developing, testing, and releasing scripts/tools as specified.
• Support tape-out activities and foundry interface.

What you'll need

• 12+ years of relevant work experience and a BSEE or MSEE.
• In-depth experience setting up Cadence full-custom design environments (Virtuoso 12 and Virtuoso Studio IC 23.1 and above).
• Knowledge of 12nm or lower process technologies, including FinFET.
• Experience with standard cell libraries and PDK installations.
• Experience with Pcell creation, debugging, and migration flows.
• Experience with SKILL/Perl/Python scripting for design automation.
• Experience writing DRC/LVS runsets using Mentor Calibre.
