Overview
The Test / Integration Engineer I provides functional leadership for testing activities across the project lifecycle, owning testing strategy, coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams, leading customer test workshops, and ensuring system readiness for acceptance.
What you'll do
- Own and drive the testing strategy across the project lifecycle.
- Define and manage test approaches, test plans, test readiness criteria, and acceptance criteria.
- Ensure testing activities align with project requirements, system specifications, and customer expectations.
- Lead operational scenario validation under realistic operating conditions.
- Approve test readiness and ensure prerequisites are in place before testing begins.
- Lead and coordinate FAT, IHT, SFT, SAT, and other system acceptance activities as applicable.
- Monitor testing progress and report to project leadership.
- Lead customer test workshops and facilitate technical discussions on system testing and acceptance.
- Act as the key testing interface between customers and internal engineering teams.
- Present test results, issues, risks, and mitigation plans to stakeholders.
- Manage expectations and align customer requirements with testing outcomes.
- Participate in engineering discussions, design reviews, and system-level technical meetings.
- Coordinate testing across software, controls, electrical, mechanical, simulation, and other engineering disciplines.
- Drive system integration activities and validate interfaces between disciplines.
- Coordinate resolution of complex cross-disciplinary defects and technical issues.
- Guide Test Integration Engineers and provide functional leadership to the testing team.
- Support and mentor junior engineers and promote consistent testing practices.
- Identify testing-related project risks and support mitigation and contingency plans.
- Drive defect investigations and follow critical issues through to resolution.
- Improve testing processes, tools, methodologies, and system validation.
- Promote standardisation and reuse of test procedures and best practices across projects.
- Ensure complete and accurate test documentation and project handover deliverables.
What you'll need
- B.E. / B.Tech in Electronics, Instrumentation, Electrical, E&TC, or Computer Engineering.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in system integration, software testing, system testing, or a related engineering environment, with demonstrated experience in a testing or integration lead role.
- Strong understanding of software testing and development life cycles, including V-Model, CMMI, Agile, and test processes.
- Strong hands-on experience with Polarion, Jira, Oracle PL/SQL, and Unix.
- Strong experience developing and reviewing test strategies, test plans, test cases, integration plans, system designs, and acceptance criteria.
- Proven ability to lead testing activities across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong customer-facing and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience leading defect investigations and technical issue resolution.
- Strong ownership, leadership, and mentoring capabilities.
- Willingness to travel extensively and support customer projects based on business requirements.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of airport baggage handling, material handling, distribution systems, PLC, and SCADA.
- Previous experience in airport automation or a similar complex automation environment.
