Overview
Manufacturing Engineer responsible for coordinating and optimizing manufacturing operations, supporting plant engineers, delivering drawings and supporting files, and driving continuous improvement for Oil and Gas/Power Plant EPC projects.
What you'll do
- Research new materials and competitive products.
- Organize, coordinate, and execute the building, testing, and analysis of prototypes.
- Evaluate and improve existing manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
- Apply advanced manufacturing techniques and lean methodologies to drive continuous improvement.
- Design and develop custom tooling, jigs, and fixtures required for specialized fabrication.
- Conduct time studies and cost analyses to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization.
- Manage fabrication processes for pressure vessels, piping systems, and other large-scale structures.
- Assist supply specialists and buyers with supplier development and supplier performance.
- Oversee the efforts of drafting and testing specialists.
- Develop and document functional requirements and translate them into detail design documents.
- Participate in buy-build analysis for product components.
- Participate in and support proposal preparation, cost estimates, and technical reports.
What you'll need
- A Bachelor of Engineering degree in Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited Engineering institute.
- 10-12 years of Oil and Gas/Power Plant experience.
- Experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment, with a significant portion in an engineering role.
- Analytical thinking, including determining root causes, creating alternative solutions, evaluating costs, benefits, risks, and chances for success, and breaking complex problems into component parts.
- Effective communications, including delivering feedback, listening to feedback, making oral presentations, writing reports, avoiding inappropriate technical jargon, and considering non-verbal cues.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities and prioritize time effectively.
- Technical excellence, including developing solutions to significant technical challenges and applying current procedures, technologies, standards, and technical knowledge.
- Computer-aided design and engineering skills, including producing, analyzing, simulating, and testing product design drafts.
- Product design and manufacturing skills, including converting customer and market requirements into product design.
- Product design and development skills, including designing, building, and developing a product, technology, or service from concept through production.
- Be well versed with Oil and Gas EPC projects, with exposure to multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
