Zero Trust Micro Segmentation Engineer

Overview

Support the implementation and operation of Zero Trust, micro-segmentation, SASE and enterprise network security capabilities as part of Project Faraday, working hands-on with Akamai Guardicore, Zscaler and enterprise firewall platforms.

What you'll do

• Support the implementation and ongoing operation of network security, Zero Trust, and micro-segmentation capabilities as part of Project Faraday.
• Configure and maintain Akamai Guardicore policies, asset labels, segmentation rules, and application access controls.
• Configure, administer, and support Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA) to provide secure internet and private application access.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise firewall technologies protecting corporate networks and security zones.
• Implement and maintain network security policies supporting Zero Trust principles, segmentation, least-privilege access, and secure application connectivity.
• Diagnose and resolve routing, firewall, SASE, micro-segmentation, and connectivity issues using logs, packet captures, and network diagnostic tools.
• Participate in planned network and security changes, including implementation, testing, validation, troubleshooting, and post-change verification.
• Monitor the health and performance of network security platforms and assist with the investigation and resolution of incidents, alerts, connectivity problems, and security-policy issues.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, configuration standards, operational procedures, and implementation records.
• Partner with senior engineers, Cybersecurity, infrastructure, cloud, and application teams to implement network security requirements while maintaining reliable business connectivity.

What you'll need

• 4–6 years of experience in Enterprise Networking, Network Security, or a related infrastructure engineering role.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, BGP, OSPF, DNS, NAT, VPN technologies, and network security fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience with Akamai Guardicore or a comparable micro-segmentation platform.
• Experience supporting or administering Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and/or Zscaler Private Access (ZPA), with a solid understanding of SASE and Zero Trust concepts.
• Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting enterprise firewall technologies such as Palo Alto Networks or Fortinet.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose network connectivity, routing, firewall, and security-policy issues.
• Experience working within enterprise incident, problem, and change-management processes.
• Ability to work full-time, 100% onsite at our India office.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with Akamai Guardicore micro-segmentation.
• Experience administering Zscaler ZIA and ZPA.
• Experience with Palo Alto Networks or Fortinet firewall platforms.
• Familiarity with enterprise DMZ and hybrid-cloud network environments.
• Familiarity with network automation using Python, Ansible, APIs, or similar technologies.
• Experience supporting network security technologies in a large, globally distributed enterprise environment.
• Zscaler Certified Cloud Administrator (ZCCA) or Zscaler Certified Cloud Professional (ZCCP).
• CCNA, CCNP Enterprise, or CCNP Security.
• Palo Alto Networks or Fortinet certification.
• Akamai Guardicore training or certification.
