Accountant

Overview

The Accountant assists the Accounting Manager or Accounting Cycle Analyst with Group and local norms accounting activities, handling the layout, entry, verification, control, quality and consistency of accounting transactions and accounts within their remit.

What you'll do

• Assist the Accounting Manager or Accounting Cycle Analyst with Group and local norms accounting activities.
• Handle layout, entry, verification, control, quality and consistency of accounting transactions and accounts within your remit.
• Ensure accounting activities comply with Group referentials and relevant country legislation, with information available within prescribed deadlines for financial statement preparation.
• Perform daily accounting of cash and bank transactions.
• Prepare and post journal entries related to cash and banking activities.
• Complete daily, weekly and monthly bank reconciliations and resolve outstanding reconciling items.
• Ensure GL entries and transactions comply with Group and local norms, function allocation rules and standard processes.
• Provide accounts reconciliation and justification before reviewers, internal and external auditors and internal controllers.
• Ensure closing transactions, programs and reporting are operated in compliance with closing deadlines and the expected quality level.

What you'll need

• Understanding of basic accounting concepts.
• Understanding of provisioning and accruals.
• Understanding of fixed assets accounting.
