Accountant(Statutory Audit)

Overview

Accountant (Statutory Audit) role in the Global Finance Services Division, managing financial record keeping, reporting, tax filing and other accounting functions, including US GAAP and local GAAP tax accounting.

What you'll do

• Prepare financial statements and audit schedules for the legal entity to comply with local GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
• Analyze financial results to reach meaningful conclusions.
• Perform audit adjustments based on GAAP differences and the significance of transactions.
• Reconcile local GAAP and US GAAP records.
• Support filing of statutory reports with assistance from legal teams.
• Lead statutory audits by ensuring timely provision of information.
• Lead discussions with other functional groups to compile and review financial information required for financial statements and audit validations.
• Resolve audit questions and manage discussions independently or with limited support, and guide others in preparing and presenting financials.
• Work with direct and indirect tax groups on data and information feeds for statutory reports supporting tax compliance (assessments, audits, transfer pricing, etc.).
• Advise the business on matters concerning local statutory requirements.
• Stay current on regulations that impact statutory reporting and maintain close connections with business and operations teams.
• Understand current and deferred tax provisions and coordinate with the legal entity team to reflect tax balances for US GAAP and local GAAP (APAC, EMEA, LATAM) audits.
• Take an active part in automation projects to improve processes and develop dashboard reporting.

What you'll need

• Qualified Chartered Accountant with 4+ years of experience, or semi-qualified with 10-12 years of experience in managing statutory audits.
• Experience in accounting under US GAAP and IFRS (or the FRS of any Asian country).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in SAP or other ERP.
• Big 4 experience.
• Knowledge of compliances relating to taxes, secretarial, trade or currency.
• Experience with stakeholder management.
• Experience with job transition and leading teams.
• Knowledge of general accounting practices, passion for financial reporting, ability to learn and adapt quickly, and a strong positive attitude.

Details

• Location: Whitefield Office, Bangalore, India (preferred).
• Work mode: onsite, five days a week in the office.
