Overview
The Advanced Services Consulting Engineer delivers proactive consulting, technical analysis, recommendations, and customer network solution support for Juniper products and networks.
What you'll do
- Review and assess open software defects using professional knowledge.
- Provide recommendations on identified risks and discuss the details with respective teams.
- Deliver proactive consulting services such as technical analysis and recommendations, including impact assessment and analysis, health check analysis, software upgrade analysis, and configuration review.
- Assist customers and senior engineers in conducting Juniper product health checks to identify potential product performance problem areas.
- Make recommendations to optimize operational performance in respect to design, topology, and configuration.
- Review and evaluate network plans.
- Assist in planning new feature implementation and product deployment.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in products, documentation quality, and automation.
- Present findings in appropriate forums.
- Document and maintain customer network solutions knowledge.
- Educate other internal Juniper resources for a better support experience.
What you'll need
- Deep understanding of core IP networking concepts, including TCP/IP, QoS, VLAN, STP, IPSEC, NAT, and IPv6.
- Reasonable expertise in Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols such as VRRP, OSPF, BGP, Multicast, and MPLS VPN.
- Amiable communication, interpersonal, and social skills.
Nice to have
- Knowledge and experience of newer technologies such as Segment Routing, Traffic Engineering, data center switching, VxLAN, EVPN, and SD-WAN.
- Experience and desire to work on automation.
- Juniper product certifications such as JNCIS, JNCIP, or JNCIE, or industry equivalent certifications.

- Hybrid role with a requirement to work an average of 2 days per week from an HPE office.
- Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
