AI Engineer

Overview

As an AI Engineer, you will build and deliver AI-driven features to production, collaborating with engineers and product stakeholders to refine concepts and ensure reliable performance.

What you'll do

• Contribute across the software stack to deliver AI-driven user journeys to production.
• Apply software engineering and system design principles to build observable, maintainable, scalable solutions.
• Build product features and agents using frontier models with prompting, context, tools, and reasoning.
• Validate solutions against functional requirements using QA methods, evals, and tracing.
• Use agentic software engineering techniques across the SDLC (planning, design, implementation, testing, maintenance).
• Participate in product refinement by ideating, exploring, and prototyping with designers/PMs.
• Partner on project scoping and prioritization with other engineering team members.

What you'll need

• 3+ years of professional programming experience in web application and backend environments.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript or Python.
• Strong knowledge of modern web frameworks such as React, Next.js, or Rails.
• Backend service framework experience such as FastAPI or Node.js.
• Hands-on experience building AI and agent-powered features using frontier models from OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google.
• Regular use of coding agent harnesses like Claude Code, Codex, Opencode, or Pi in the daily workflow.
• Experience refining feature requirements with a product stakeholder.

Nice to have

• Experience using AI models to generate end-user content.
• Experience with multimodal AI and audio models (speech to text or text to speech).
• Experience with realtime full duplex communication apps.
• Familiarity with speech to speech (S2S) models.
• Experience developing evals against agents you or others have written.
