AI Operations Engineer

Overview

AI Operations Engineer for Cisco’s Commerce Operations Engineering Center (COEC), building and supporting AI-powered automation solutions for Commerce Operations.

What you'll do

• Develop and enhance AI agents to automate manual and repetitive Commerce Operations tasks.
• Implement agent workflows using frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, AutoGen, CrewAI, or equivalent.
• Build secure API and enterprise integrations for commerce platforms using REST, GraphQL, webhooks, and event-driven services.
• Develop retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines using documents and enterprise knowledge repositories.
• Apply guardrails, human approval steps, LLM routing, and failover mechanisms for agent outcomes.
• Support deployment and production operations via CI/CD, monitoring, rollback, and cost tracking.
• Troubleshoot issues, improve AI workflows, and document designs and operational procedures.

What you'll need

• 3+ years of experience in software engineering, AI engineering, data engineering, or a related field.
• Experience developing LLM-powered, machine-learning, or automation applications.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with one or more LLM/agent frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI).
• Working knowledge of RAG, prompt engineering, tool/function calling, and workflow orchestration.
• Experience developing API and system integrations (REST, GraphQL, event-driven services, authentication, enterprise data sources).
• Familiarity with Git, testing, debugging, code reviews, and CI/CD.
