Job description

Overview

Lead domain expertise for AI-accelerated crashworthiness and industrial structural simulation. Collaborate across research, product, and customer-facing teams to design, validate, and deploy AI Physics Models for engineering use cases.

What you'll do

  • Define and improve simulation datasets for crashworthiness foundation models.
  • Run high-fidelity simulations using structural mechanics solvers.
  • Define variation spaces covering geometry, materials, loading, contact, failure modes, and KPIs.
  • Build or guide automated simulation and dataset pipelines.
  • Train and evaluate AI models on simulation data and diagnose failure modes.
  • Assess model outputs against engineering accuracy, deformation, load, energy, and failure criteria.
  • Work with industrial customers to define use cases and validation criteria.

What you'll need

  • 4+ years of relevant industrial experience, or a PhD plus 1 year.
  • Deep expertise in crashworthiness, solid mechanics, and structural mechanics.
  • Master’s degree or equivalent technical depth in a relevant engineering or physics field.
  • Hands-on experience with explicit dynamics, crash or impact simulation, and nonlinear FEM.
  • Experience with simulation validation, correlation, numerical sensitivity, and engineering KPIs.
  • Strong Python development skills, including Git, testing, code review, and documentation.
  • Experience with Linux and HPC environments and batch simulation workflows.

Nice to have

  • Experience applying machine learning, surrogate, reduced-order, optimization, or data-driven methods to simulations.
  • Experience building reusable tools, open-source code, or production engineering workflows.
  • Experience with industrial customers, product teams, or engineering decision-makers.
  • Publications, patents, technical leadership, or recognized contributions in relevant communities.

Details

  • Location: Paris, France
