Overview

Analyst 1 role at DXC Technology focused on month-end close, financial reporting and planning for a client account, with a business advisory component.

What you'll do

• Ensure timely and accurate completion of all month-end close activities in line with the account and DXC reporting calendar.
• Ensure financial reporting accurately reflects performance.
• Ensure all contractual clauses, terms and conditions are strictly adhered to.
• Lead all planning cycles (strategic planning, operating plans, forecasts etc) with high accuracy and thorough understanding of business dynamics, in collaboration with the business at the account level.
• Understand and monitor balance sheet balances; highlight and take risk items to close.
• Translate complex lease accounting standards into actionable financial forecasts, pricing models and profitability metrics that guide sales leadership.
• Understand hardware and software accounting, revenue recognition and cost flow, including over-time and point-in-time ASC 606 reporting, and the concepts and intricacies of operational and ASC 606 backlog.
• Understand transition and transformation accounting, including upfront, over-time and amortisation treatment.
• Understand the MH structure and its overlap with Offerings and Connect structures.
• Support all compliance and audit requirements as requested or scheduled.
• Partner with CP and AE to understand business specifics and provide valuable financial insights.
• Move into a business advisory role.
• Support the CP and Finance Manager in driving margin improvement initiatives with the account.
• Understand interdependencies between Offerings and Connect for all coverage accounts from a forecast, revenue/margin commit and overall business perspective, noting Connect works on a different SAP instance.
• Understand journal flow between entities and offerings.
• Navigate and ensure deliverables are met through effective interpersonal and communication skills, with constant interaction and nurturing of relationships.
