Analyst - Accounting

Overview

Run the technical core of Accounting for Quince, covering inventory, logistics cost, lease, revenue recognition and investment accounting, and act as controller for one of the European subsidiaries.

What you'll do

• Build and maintain the monthly marketing accrual model across digital, performance, brand and agency spend, reconciling to invoice-level detail using Looker reports.
• Own first-mile, middle-mile and last-mile carrier costs, freight, customs, duty and tariff, and build accrual models tied to shipment volumes.
• Own inventory costing, valuation and reconciliation, partnering with Supply Chain and Operations to keep the inventory sub-ledger tied to the GL.
• Build and maintain lease schedules, ROU asset and lease liability roll-forwards, modifications, terminations and disclosures (ASC 842).
• Own revenue recognition schedules and accruals, including review of contracts with multiple performance obligations (ASC 606).
• Own investment accounting and reporting for debt securities (ASC 320) and equity securities (ASC 321), including reconciliations against custodian/bank statements and periodic roll-forwards.
• Act as controller for one of the European subsidiaries, own the comparison of actuals to forecast, and take part in FP&A discussions with business heads alongside the VP of Accounting and the Finance Controller.
• Use AI to prepare and post journal entries, accruals, prepaids and reserves for owned GL areas, with documentation built for audit walkthroughs.
• Perform GL-to-subledger, bank, vendor, lease, inventory and investment schedule reconciliations.
• Work directly with Marketing, Logistics, Operations and FP&A to flag risk, propose accounting treatment, and resolve discrepancies.
• Build and ship AI agents on Claude Enterprise, using MCP connectors into NetSuite, Coupa, Numeric, Brex and Looker, to automate workflows.

What you'll need

• Chartered Accountant (CA) with 1 year of post-qualification experience.
• Strong conceptual grip on accounting, accruals, controls and US GAAP.
• Hands-on experience with month-end close, reconciliations and multi-entity accounting.
• A genuine systems mindset, with interest in how ERPs, BI tools and automation reshape a close.
• Advanced Excel and comfort with large, system-generated datasets.
• Ability to trace a number back through the operational system that produced it.
• Sharp communication skills to present numbers and issues to senior stakeholders, including the VP of Accounting and business heads.

Nice to have

• Exposure to lease accounting, revenue recognition or investment accounting.
• Working knowledge of NetSuite.
• Familiarity with Coupa, Numeric or Brex.
• Exposure to workflow tools (Jira / Freshservice).
• Comfort with, or willingness to learn, forecast-to-actual variance analysis and FP&A-style business partnering.
• E-commerce, supply chain or operational finance background.
