Overview
The Transaction Management Associate provides operational support for CNO and bulk loan transactions, business partnering, and residential loan investment transaction activities. The position reports to the Director of Transaction Management and works closely with teams across the firm.
What you'll do
- Provide day-to-day operational input on CNO and bulk loan transactions.
- Assist with loan re-underwriting, analysis, presentation, and submission for settlement.
- Collaborate with external diligence firm partners, custodians, and sellers to manage the timely receipt and delivery of third-party reports and documents.
- Perform monthly MERS monitoring, custodial monitoring including trailing document review, custodial reconciliations, vendor invoice allocations, and summary reporting.
- Facilitate pre-closing activities, including counterparty KYC/AML approvals, trading system setups, and telephonic wire confirmations.
- Facilitate closing activities as frequently as numerous times per day as trade closings require, including preparing closing summaries and checklists, booking trades in systems, setting up wires, reviewing and submitting investor data ingestion files, updating loan acquisition tracking files, and uploading loan-level purchase data to the database.
- Facilitate post-closing activities for recently acquired loans, including monthly communications with the custodian, trustee, and loan servicers.
- Prepare bank reconciliations for separately managed accounts twice per month for each investor.
- Make judgment-based decisions related to the operations function and assume responsibility for the impact to the business.
- Understand key areas of residential loan investment transactions and business, anticipate potential issues, and proactively communicate solutions to the team or management.

Nice to have
- Knowledge and/or direct experience with residential loan acquisition diligence review and transaction management.
- Experience working in an alternative investment fund manager, high-volume loan production office, or similar industry.
- Exposure to investments, legal documents, and structures.
- Negotiation and conflict management skills.
- Programming and/or report building experience utilizing SQL, Snowflake, Looker, Sigma, or other computer programming logic.
