AppDynamics Administrator – APM, EUM & Business iQ

Overview

Implement, configure, and manage AppDynamics application performance monitoring across enterprise applications and distributed environments, analyzing performance issues and supporting teams in resolving production challenges.

What you'll do

• Implement, configure, administer, and maintain AppDynamics APM solutions across applications and technology environments.
• Monitor application performance, end-user experience, business transactions, service availability, and system health.
• Analyze performance issues and identify root causes across application code, infrastructure, databases, and networks.
• Configure Business Transactions, Health Rules, Policies, dashboards, alerts, reports, and monitoring thresholds.
• Establish monitoring coverage across monolithic applications, microservices, APIs, and distributed systems.
• Create and maintain real-time monitoring views that support incident response, operational decision-making, and performance analysis.
• Work closely with development, QA, DevOps, infrastructure, database, and support teams to investigate and resolve performance issues.
• Support incident management and troubleshooting using AppDynamics insights and correlated monitoring data.
• Integrate AppDynamics with CI/CD pipelines and other monitoring tools to support automated and continuous performance monitoring.
• Conduct performance trend analysis, capacity planning, and service health reviews.
• Tune alerts and reduce monitoring noise while maintaining appropriate coverage for critical conditions.
• Support the implementation of end-user monitoring and Business iQ capabilities.
• Promote efficient monitoring configurations and responsible use of monitoring infrastructure to support operational sustainability.

What you'll need

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in AppDynamics APM setup, configuration, administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Experience configuring, monitoring, and analyzing AppDynamics business transactions.
• Experience creating, maintaining, tuning, and managing health rules, policies, alerts, and notifications.
• Experience creating AppDynamics dashboards, reports, performance views, and operational metrics.
• Experience setting up and managing AppDynamics End-User Monitoring (EUM).
• Experience with AppDynamics Business iQ or equivalent AppDynamics business performance monitoring capabilities.
• 5+ years of experience in APM, application monitoring, or performance engineering.
• Experience monitoring Java, .NET, or Node.js applications.
• Working knowledge of HTTP/HTTPS and REST APIs.
• Working knowledge of Linux/Unix systems.
• Basic knowledge of databases and SQL.
• Experience analyzing application, infrastructure, and system logs.
• Practical understanding of response time, throughput, latency, error rates, availability, and user experience indicators.
• Knowledge of alert tuning and noise reduction strategies.
• Experience integrating AppDynamics with CI/CD pipelines and other monitoring tools.
• Understanding of application monitoring in cloud or distributed environments.
• Understanding of incident management, troubleshooting, performance trend analysis, and capacity planning.
• Understanding of DevOps and SRE practices.
• Awareness of access control, authentication, secure configuration, and protection of monitoring data.
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred; equivalent relevant professional experience may be considered.

• Experience with Dynatrace, New Relic, Prometheus, or Grafana.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, including AWS.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
• Experience with JMeter or LoadRunner.
• Experience with DevOps and SRE practices.
• AppDynamics Associate- or Professional-level certification.
• Experience analyzing database performance bottlenecks in collaboration with database teams.
• Experience supporting monitoring solutions in environments with formal security, audit, or compliance requirements.
• Industry experience in financial services, technology consulting, regulated environments, or other production-driven sectors.
